Non-Captive Finance - Prime Credit

Historically, the group average in the Non-Captive Prime Finance category is high compared to averages in other categories. This year, the category still fared well among dealers, with four companies receiving accolades.

Topping the list is Wells Fargo Auto Finance, with a Diamond Award win, a significant improvement over the company’s fifth-place in the 2010 awards. This year marks its fifth Dealers’ Choice Award in the category. From 2006 to 2009, the company won three Gold Awards and one Platinum.

BB&T continued its award-wining streak with a Platinum Award. In 2010 and 2009, the finance company won Diamond Awards. It also happens to be the only company recognized with an award in the Non-Captive Prime Finance category the past three consecutive years.

Fifth Third received its first Dealers’ Choice Award in 2006 with a Gold Award. From 2007 to 2010, the company scored above average and received honorable mentions, and in 2011, it recaptured the Gold Award.

Returning to dealers’ favor this year is Chase Bank, which secured a fourth-place finish in the Non-Captive Prime Finance category. The company was also recognized in the awards from 2005 to 2008.

For dealer-owned reinsurance entities, avoiding volatility entirely can mean falling behind inflation and missing market rebounds that drive long term surplus growth.
