New report reveals trends in do-it-yourself apps for iPhone, iPad and Android
CUPERTINO, CA – MobileAppLoader, powering the most mobile apps for small and medium-sized businesses, has published a new report showing that apps for BMW dealerships are downloaded 36 times more frequently than apps of other luxury car sellers.
“Our iPhone app is a fantastic tool for our dealership. We send news and updates to our customers with it. They can check our inventory and request appointments directly from it. Our app is always in our customers’ pocket," says Ty Whiting, who picked MobileAppLoader to create an app for “Classic BMW” in Ohio.
Danielle Cloutier of Crevier BMW in Santa Ana, CA says their iPhone app is “an important tool for our e-commerce and marketing services. It is important for us to have a presence in the iTunes App Store, and our customers love it.”
The report goes on to reveal that other dealerships are beginning to recognize the benefits of mobile apps.
“We’ve won business by having a presence in the iTunes App Store," says Tim Glockner, who used MobileAppLoader to create an app for Glockner Toyota/Honda in Ohio. “Our customers love it!” he says.
According to the report, dealerships get the most mileage from apps featuring instant notifications, inventory searches, and appointment scheduling. Notifications enable them to connect with customers via text and picture-based messages, including announcements of sales and coupons. Inventory searches make car shopping easy and convenient from customers’ mobile phones. Appointment scheduling lets them quickly request appointments without the need to go online or make a phone call.
Zvika Ashkenazi, CEO of MobileAppLoader, says that mobile phone users find apps more appealing than Internet web sites.
“To reach this mobile audience, businesses are creating apps in growing numbers,” he says. “They want an affordable way of increasing exposure and reaching out for customers across iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms.”
MobileAppLoader’s vision is to help businesses succeed in a market where the difference between winning and losing a sale often hinges on the proximity of information.
“With mobile apps, businesses increase their accessibility, and customers respond to that convenience,” Ashkenazi says.
